“When I was a little girl, I loved drawing and painting. Looking back, I realize growing up in a small, Southern town was a gift. It gave me a place to observe nature every day under wide open skies, Daddy’s gardens, Mama’s flowers, and the farm. I ran through fields with my dog, splashed barefoot through creeks, and fished in ponds with a worm on a hook! This was the start of my long, beautiful journey in art and arts education. It is through creating and teaching that I find my truest self”.
Sullivan graduated from Newberry College with a BA in Studio Art and the University of SC where she received her MAT in Arts Education. While teaching art in both public school and her own studio, Sullivan continued her arts education and advocacy focusing on arts assessment and technology, grant-writing and serving in many roles as part of the SCAEA, SC Alliance for Arts Education, and SC Department of Education.
Kimberly Sullivan currently resides in Beaufort, SC where she continues to work as a consultant and freelance artist.
